I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Curt Bishop this past 2008 Convention, some of you may also have known Curt from events in the past. He was a dedicated and passionate activist who will be missed in our big OPSEU family. The story below is taken from the OPSEU website.

Curt Bishop, 52 corrections activist from Sault Ste. Marie

The union is saddened by the passing of Curt Bishop, Local 678, an OPSEU member/activist for more than two decades. Curt passed away suddenly this morning.
Brother Curt worked at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, and was chair of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services Provincial Health and Safety team.
Curt leaves his wife Patty, and daughters Sarah and Elaina. Members of our union express their deepest sorrow to Curt’s loved ones.
